Games, Games, and Wargames (and Books and Movies) Oh my!

   

I decided to play a Pulp Alley game using my Popeye League.  I painted them up a while ago and they only ever were played once.  I thought that maybe they felt lonely and wanted to get them back on the table. Popeye was going up against a group of mercenaries on a tropical island.  I used a game map that I have to simplify the setup.  I know that the look isn't as great as the 3D terrain but for a easy setup and breakdown game it can't be beat. My issue is that while I have a lot of buildings, trees, etc storage isn't that easy.  It requires a major investment of time to get things out, set them up, break them down, and put them away (including moving furniture).  Because of that I do a lot of gaming on either maps like this or Cigar Box Battle Mats.  I can add a few buildings and am able to play a fun game with minimal terrain requirements.  It is also nice when demoing a game at someone's home so that I don't have to make a mess with trees, ...

Pulp Alley - Captain America Game – Solo Deck Game For those that may have read the other Captain America session report that I did, this game is not a follow up to that.   My plans for a follow up requires painting of more figures, as well as some terrain, so it may be a while before I get that one ready.   This game is another playing of the Captain America and Bucky league against the Nazi Blitz Squad.   I want to playtest the superhero ideas to ensure that they are super enough, but not too super so that things remain competitive.    Whether playing against an opponent or even playing solo, you want a good game! I put together a Doc Savage based league for Pulp Alley.  It is based on being a flexible league.  I created Doc as the leader (obviously) and the other characters at different levels (Sidekick, Ally, and Follower) so that I can mix and match the league based on the scenario or situation.
